Vocational core competencies are essential abilities for everyone to succeed in work and life. These abilities, in addition to professional skills, also include various qualities such as communication, teamwork, and self-management. They are like the compass on our life's journey, helping us confidently showcase ourselves and flexibly choose and apply strategies based on specific situations.
Professional core competencies are divided into three levels: basic, expanded, and extended. Basic core competencies, such as professional communication and teamwork, are indispensable basic qualities in the workplace; expanded core competencies, such as problem-solving and information processing, can help us better cope with various challenges; extended core competencies include leadership, execution, etc., which contribute to our achievement of higher-level career development.
The iCVCC National Vocational Core Competency Certification Office is an important institution dedicated to promoting and cultivating professional core competencies. They provide professional training and testing services for college and university students, teachers, and personnel from enterprises and institutions, helping everyone enhance the core competencies necessary for employment and career advancement.
Developed countries have long recognized the importance of professional core competencies and have widely practiced them in vocational education. The dual-system educational model in Germany, the core competency development system in the UK, and the soft skill assessment in the US have all provided us with valuable experience and inspiration.
